Can the Château de Talmont be visited all year round?

No, the château is open to individuals from the spring holidays to October 1 (exceptional closure on April 14 the afternoon, and from May15 to 21), then during the autumn holidays. For groups and schoolchildren, the castle can be visited throughout the year, by reservation.

 

What payment methods are accepted?
Payment is made at the ticket office, in cash, by check or by credit card (from €5). Holiday vouchers are also accepted, only for the ticket office and without giving change.

 

Is there a reduced rate for people with disabilities?
Yes, upon presentation of proof. 50% of normal rate.

 

I am coming with my personal vehicle, where can I park? Is there a charge for parking?
Near the site, there are 2 free car parks in the heart of the city center where visitors can park: the Gâtines car park and the Payré car park.

 

I have trouble getting around, can I still visit the monument?
Access to the chateau is via the slightly rising moat, ending with a steeper slope before access to the farmyard. The outdoor spaces are freely accessible to people in wheelchairs, with the help of their companion. To visit the main tower, count a hundred steps to climb and then as many to descend.

 

Am I obliged to take a tour with a guide?
No, you can take a guided tour during school holidays and the summer season (July and August), but you can also take a self-guided tour using a paper guide.

 

How much does the guided tour cost?
There is no supplement for the guided tour.

 

Do I have to book for activities and guided tours?
No, no reservation is necessary for individuals (except some activities during spring holidays). Regarding groups, it is best to contact the castle several days before your arrival for reception and organizational reasons.

 

Is it possible to eat on site?
Yes, a fast food restaurant is installed in the courtyard of the castle. You can also bring your own picnic. Picnic areas are available to our visitors on the site and near the lake near the castle.

 

Can I leave the site and come back later?
Yes, the ticket is valid all day. You will be given a stamp before your outing so that you can return to the site in the afternoon without repaying an entrance fee.

 

I have a toddler, can he stay in his stroller to visit the monument?
Yes from the moat to the courtyard. However it is not possible to enter the tower with a stroller (stairs).

 

Can I bring my dog ​​into the castle?
Yes, as long as it is on a leash (except in the Escape Game where it is not allowed).

 

The weather will be bad during the night show, will it be cancelled ?

No. The night show is postpone only if there is a meteorologic alert. If it is the case, the show is postpone to the thursday of the same week (you wil receive a mail). If the weather is cancelled on thursday, you will have the possibility to postpone your tickets for another week or to be repayed.
